The Cricut Maker 4 can cut thin wood and real leather with some important considerations. For thin wood, it works best with Cricut-approved basswood (up to 1/16” thick) and balsa wood (up to 3/32”), using the Knife Blade and a StrongGrip mat secured with masking tape. Cutting may take several passes, and edges might not be perfectly smooth. When cutting leather, it handles genuine or tooling leather up to 2-3 oz thickness using the Knife Blade and StrongGrip mat. Avoid chrome-tanned leather to protect your blades. Cricut also offers specially designed genuine and faux leather for optimal results.
